The upward movement of prices was Interfered In-terfered with by the simultaneous execution execu-tion of large selling orders in -Reading and Amalgamated Copper. These stocks sold a point below yesterday's close, and pulled several others down as much. Louis, were well reduced or wiped out. Business Increased during the selling, which waa still In progress at 11 o'clock. Moderate demand bv shorts and commission-houses held the wheat market steady here today, despite selling by traders, who were influenced bv higher temperatures throughout the West and Southwest. The Liverpool market mar-ket ihowed but a slight responso to yesterday's yes-terday's advance here, and thin had a somewhat depressing effect. May o-ned unchanged to a shade higher at (6'C'Hc to K. and sold at tCVutte. and then advanced to H5c. Minneapolis. Duluth and Chicago reported receipts of 266 cara, against 279 a year ago. Liberal local receipts and favorable weather for the movement and grading of the new crop showed a slightly easier tone in the corn market. The volume of business was small. May opened a shade lower to a shade higher at 3osc to HW 3u5 and sold off to 3u,fa30Sc. Provisions were firm on an active general gen-eral demand. Offerings were slight. The market for live hogs was steadv. and this condition was largely responsible for the demand for provisions. May pork opened 6c higher at 314.75. sold up to $14.85 and reacted to 314.80. 1-ard was up a shade at 37.70. Ribs were 2tSo higher at 37.87. The volumne of business was small. May opened a shade lower to a shade higher at 44H to 44o, and sold off to 44Vic. Trading In oats was very quiet and the tone of the market wa easy.
