L D D. S S. S Church I. I The new hospital and home is the first of its kind in the West It is to tobe tobe be he the refuge of little sick children n whose parents are unable to pay for hospital treatment Beautiful indeed is the spirit back of the new institution When completed it will represent a great love that thousands thousands thou thou- sands of or children of the Mormon church Bold for their fellowmen It will be an institution kept up for the most part by small love offerings made regularly by the children of the Primary asso- asso clation elation of the church I asso-I For For many years past these children childr n J representing presenting Pre enUng primary ary associations throughout the church have contributed contributed contri contri- buted small sums for the sending of sick children to hospitals whose parents parent's parents par- par ent's nt's could not do so At present there are axe seven In a a. local hospital being treated free and nd cheered In many ways by Eby their little b benefactors and the hospital hospital hospital hos hos- pital and convalescent home is just a a. abig abig big jig big dream of the the tho little Samaritans true HOSPITALS VISITED Last summer Mrs r Louie Loule B B. A. A Goff upon hear hear- hearing ing the opera Martha l at the Granite high school recently conceived the Idea of having the cast give a performance performance performance mance for the benefit of the childrens children's hospital and convalescent home which it is announced will be opened about abou t th the middle of April These women procured the Salt Lake theatre free for the evening and the services of the school orchestra an and opera ca cart PRESENTED YEARS AGO The opera I Martha will be like a phantom from froni the tho past More than twenty years years ago it was played at the Salt Lake theatre by bythe the old Salt Lake opera company which was composed of S Salt lt Lake men and women An unusual unusual un un- un- un usual feature Is the fact that the leadIng leading lead lead- ing female part sang twenty years ago by Mrs John Sharp wife of Dr Sharp will be taken next Wednesday night by her daughter Marian a student of the Granite high school George D D. present manager of the Salt Lake Laite theatre theatre the the- atre played the role opposite Mrs Sharp twenty years ago Those who will take the leading parts in the opera Wednesday night will be in addition to Miss Sharp Margaret Vine Melvin Cornwall Earl Donaldson Vernon and Lincoln Harris The chorus and orchestra together r will number Miss Ethel Taylor r will W l direct the chorus work Miss Inez T T.
