and in most parts of the United States investors have been slow to buy real estate except where they have been almost b by some pressing need Vh Why r buy real estate which was not boosted b by r the war when the market offered stocks that were making enormous enormous enormous enor enor- profits But with tho the entrance of the United States into the war stocks upon which excess profits have been regularly paid to stockholders have lost much of their attra attractiveness The investing public looks for the most attractive proposition the market af af- af fords These stocks will not be al allowed allowed allowed al- al lowed to escape heavy war taxes b by either paying out large earnings or by hoarding reserves and charging heavy amounts to depreciation The government government
