P Belcher Belch Belch- er of f a woman who gave birth to toa toa toa a baby girl d dead ad at birth tha that weighed 25 pounds There are also two records of babies born weighing pounds at birth Among the smallest babies born bonn of which there are authentic records records rec rec- rec Wa was one in Budapest Li is t 1928 which weighed 21 ounces at birth or approximately one pound five ounces This child was a twin the sister weighing th three thre e pounds The infant was living and well at atthe I Ithe the age of one and one-half one years at which time she weighed over 10 pounds f From time to time newspapers report the birth of infants weighing weigh weigh- in ing as little as 12 or 13 ounces at birth but there are no records of survival of infants of such weights In the vast majority of cases babies weighing under 1000 grams at birth about two pounds three ounces seldom survive There are however records of a. a few babies weighing as little as s grams grants at birth about 1 14 1 pounds and one which shrank to grams about one pound three ounces after three days and which eventually recovered
