A GUEST 1 THAT BOYHOOD HAIRCUT I Iwo wonder der what became of ot it tha lt-tha that time old-time barber shop Where as a little fellow for a hair haircut haircut haircut cut I r would stop The price was then a quarter and it seemed art awful lot But today Im I'm sure sore little for forthe forthe forthe the splendor that I got gotOn On the shelf shelt before the mirror there were many things to see Which before th the barber finished were all lavished onto me inc I r wonder if Ill I'll ever be as nice to th see again Or as sickly sweet with perfume as I used to be back then I r wonder If It Ill I'll ever have admiring admiring admiring ing women stop To st stare shire re the way they used to when I r left that barber shop And AndI I wonder if Ill I'll ever strut so proudly round about AsI did on those occasions when the barber turned me me ou out 1 He tucked a cloth about my neck then cranked his mammoth chair And looking in n the mirror I could watch him cutting hair But that was vas tedious business and andI I s scarcely noticed that Until he started greasing me to keep my cowlick flat flatI I watched the jars and bottles and the simple truth to tell I gloried l ried in the rubbing and I gloried in the smell When at last the job was finished and my quarter I had paid Then with with Lily Lily of the Valley Valley-I I was delicately sprayed With a fancy lancy atomizer he walked round about t the chair Till like the lilies of the valley I spilled l perfume on the air Though ough today I 1 laugh ugh about it It was serious business then And Im I'm sure sur sure that I shall never never be beU beas beas as U nice to see nee Ice again Copyright 1935 E Edgar gar A A.
