Show STATE FIREMEN POSTPONE MEET Annual convention of the Utah State Firemen's association, which was to have been held in St. George Geo-rge this summer, will not be held, it was decided at a meeting of the state board in Ogden Sunday. Sun-day. According to John J. Creed-on, Creed-on, USFA secretary, the change in plans was made at suggestion of St. George firemen. Distance to St. George is considerable con-siderable and it would be impractical imprac-tical for large percentages of firemen fire-men in many communities to leave home at the same time, the board decided. A convention will be held in St. George the first year following peace. A business and educational, meeting in Salt Lake City August Aug-ust 7 and 8 is planned for state firemen. Scheduled for the first day's sessions are election of officers offi-cers and business meetings. Next day instruction will be given in fighting incendiary bombs. No parade or banquet are planned. Only firemen elected as official' offi-cial' delegates will be admitted to meetings. |
