Show Singing Mothers In compliment to Mrs. Charles Jewett, who leaves soon with her husband and son to make their home in their newly-built residence resi-dence at 1762 Park street, Salt Lake City, a party was given Saturday evening at the home of Mrs. Harry McNeely. Guests were members of the Singing Mothers. Assisting Mrs. McNeely in entertainment en-tertainment and in serving refreshments re-freshments were Mrs. William Allmark and Mrs. Clifford Reid. Other honored guests were Mrs. Winn Raby and Mrs. Lenore An-dreason, An-dreason, who recently celebrated birthdays. Prizes at Monte Carlo whist went to Mrs. Leonard Carl-,son Carl-,son and Mrs. Andreason. The 20 present gave lovely gifts to the three honorees. Another social honoring Mrs. Jewett was that planned by Bingham Bing-ham LDS ward Relief society members, and was given Wednesday Wednes-day evening at the Bingham ward chapel. The program opened with singing sing-ing of "Scatter Sunshine". Other numbers were: Mrs. Chrysta Woodland, prayer; Singing Mothers, Mo-thers, "Blue Danube"; "Humorous "Humor-ous Stories Concerning Relief society so-ciety members", by Mrs. Victoria Lyon; vocal duet, "Little Bluebird Blue-bird of My Heart", Mrs. Phoebe Siddoway and Mrs. Mary Raby. A playlet, written by Mrs. Jane Spendlove and Mrs. Flossie Ramsey, Ram-sey, "The Jewett Family", with the following cast of characters: Mrs. Mabel Boberg, the landlady; Mrs. Elfie Reid, Mrs. Jewett; Mrs. Hilda Allmark, Mr. Jewett; Mrs. Ruby Day, Duain Jewett; Singing Mothers, v "Beautiful Dreamer"; novelty number, "Swing Sixtet", Mrs. Blanche Reid, Mrs. Delilah Rasmussen, Mrs. Margaret Swen, Mrs. Vene-tia Vene-tia Pollard, Mrs. Agnes Johnston John-ston and Mrs. Nora Austin. A lovely gift was presented Mrs. Jewett by Mrs. Day, president presi-dent of the Relief society. Mrs. Jewett responded with words of appreciation for the Relief society; so-ciety; A "Madley" was given by Mrs. Spendlove, Mrs. Jane Nichols and Mrs. Lenore Andreason; the Singing Mothers gave 'Farewell'; the benediction was by Mrs. Rita McNeely. Refreshments were served to 50 by Mrs. Boberg, Mrs. Pollard, Mrs. Swens, Mrs. Katherine McAllister Mc-Allister and Mrs. Melba Carlson. The presidency of the Bingham LDS ward Relief society reports a very lovely Mothers' and Daughters' Dau-ghters' social at the chapel Tuesday Tues-day evening. The hostess, Miss Mattie Jean Adams, welcomed 58 persons. Following entertainment refreshments were served. jt |
