Beer Parlor Owner O Killed by Holdups PORTLAND Ore Sept 6 UP UP- UP Merle Barr 31 proprietor of an east cast eastside eastside side beer parlor was shot and killed by one of two holdup men when he refused to divulge a hiding place where they thought he kept money early today Three customers Charles Camilo Carnilo and E E. B. B Narber Portland and H. H O. O Roe Vancouver Wash were drinking beer in the place and witnessed witnessed witnessed wit wit- the whole affair they told police The robber duo entered and Barr thinking they were customers bowed them to a table Instead they drew guns and demanded money Barr gave them what he had in m his pockets pockets pockets pock pock- ets but they demanded more He Hc protested that he had no more whereupon whereupon whereupon where where- upon one of the men shot him through the chest and inflicted a wound from which the victim died dieden en route to o a hospital
