Show SHIFT SOUGHT IN BALL LOOPS LOOP S We Western League President Suggests New Alignment for Two Circuits SPRINGFIELD Mo Sept 5 JP- JP ADale Dale Gear president of the Western league and the Western association has expressed the belief a new alignment alignment alignment align align- ment of the two baseball circuits is possible before the 1933 season Here attending the Western association association asso playoff series between Springfield Springfield Spring Spring- field and Bartlesville Gear said he would put before the officials a proposal pro whereby the two loops would be broken up to form two compact circuits one embracing the southern cities and ope one the northern and western west em ern cities He said he would call a meeting of Western league owners after the close of the current season to discuss the matter The southern group the president pointed out probably would include Tulsa Oklahoma City Wichita and rind andSt St St. Joseph all members of the older loop and Springfield oplin Joplin Topeka and Hutchinson which now have or I have had clubs in the association this season To form the other league there would be Pueblo D Denver nver Omaha and Des Moines all members of the Western West em ern league and possibly Sioux Cit City Ia la Sioux Falls S. S D. D Council Bluffs la Ta and Lincoln Neb Commenting upon the toughness i of ot the current season Gear said said- Certainly we cant can't go on like we we have in the past spending mone money to travel all over the middle west wesl And yet we have eight good cities in the Western league the league the only trouble is that they arc are too far apart |
