Safety Devices For Lake Boats Will Be Sought Pools and Beaches Group Croup to Ask Law Requiring LifeSaving LifeSaving Life Life- Saving Equipment at Fishing Lakes Efforts will be made to obtain legIslatIon leg leg- slaton to require boats operated on fishing lakes of the state to be fully equipped with lif saving life saving apparatus J It It was announced Thursday by the Utah Ulah Association of ot Pools and Beaches An agreement was reached to seek this legislation when the group held Its regular midsummer meeting Wednesday at Hot Pots in Provo canyon It was pointed out that 70 per cent of all in lakes were within 30 feet of safety and that proper equipment including savers life-savers would have prevented many of these losses The association also will urge that fast boats be maintained at all resorts operating boats for rental so that in case of storms or other unforeseen seen emergencies assistance may be rushed to the scene of known peril and can patrol waters during times when there is danger The group will ask cooperation of ot the Salt SaIt Lake Fish and Game association association tion in obtaining this legislation and also will urge other organizations to join in the move President Charles Welch of the Deseret gymnasium presided The next meeting will be the annual convention convention con con- and will be held at the Y W.
