Show - - Russell Gust, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Gust of Copperton, is enrolled for the annual summer session at Muskingum college at New Concord, O. He completed his freshman year in June and plans to continue his studies by registering for the regular fall term September 19. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Carter and family returned July 5 from Og-den Og-den where they visited four days with Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Dowd and Donna Gay. : local notes: Joel P. Jensen, summer band instructor, took part of the band members who played for the Fourth of July parade swimming at Murray Tuesday afternoon. Tech. Sgt. John Thamakis, who formerly lived in Bingham and has been training at Buckley field, Colo., spent several days this week at the Copper Hotel, on leave from Kearns Replacement Replace-ment Center, where he awaits overseas orders. Enjoying swimming and picnicking pic-nicking at Black Rock Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Glen Davies and son, Glen; Mrs. Stanley J. Long and daughter, Linda, and Mrs. Sherman Gardner and Joy Dean Davies. A social was held at the R. J. Slotte home in Midvale Saturday evening, July 8. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Bockholm of Pontiac, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. John Wester, Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Nestor SwVns, Sandy; Mr. and Mrs. John Quist, Cottonwood; Mr. and Mrs. Vic Edvik, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Mat-tson, Mat-tson, Mr. and Mrs. Erick Eriek-son, Eriek-son, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Slotte; and Mr. and Mrs. Grant Milner, Elvera Forsnes, Dorothy Warner, Judith Slotte, Dorothy Slotte, Frances Slotte and Airs. Mary Slotte, all of Bingham. A dinner was given Sunday evening in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Bockholm of Pontiac, Mich., by Mr. and Mrs. Paul Slotte. Present were Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Slotte, Dorothy, Frances, Judith and Mary Slotte and the honored honor-ed guests. Mr. and Mrs. J. L, Householder, Mr. and Mrs. Jack V. Householder House-holder and son, Jimmy Leo, spent July 5 in Mt. Pleasant with Mrs. A. E. Macintosh. Mrs. J. L. Householder's mother. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Nick P. Floros were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Drossos and family, Jack Tallas, Mrs. Sam Condas (Mr. Condas left July 6 for Arizona, doctor's orders) and Mr. and Mrs. Alger Buum, Mrs. Martha Farnsworth of Los Angeles arrived Tuesday to spend the summer with Mr. and Mrs. Gail Farnsworth. Bill Burnett, son of Mrs. Jesse Ferguson of Mayne Yard, is visiting vis-iting his father, William Burnett, at 29 Palms, Calif., and his grandparents and friends at Pasadena Pasa-dena and Long Bench, Calif., until un-til the middle of August. Mrs. Ida Hobart of Long Beach, Calif., is with her son-in-law and daughter, dau-ghter, Mr. and Mrs. Ferguson, for a short visit. Linda, three-year-old daughter of Mr. and Airs. Ted Robison, celebrated her birthday July 12 at a family dinner party. The birthday cake was the big feature fea-ture for Linda. Mrs. Theo M. Chesler came home Friday from a three-week visit in Seattle, Wash., with her sister. Mrs. Mary Brain. It was Mrs. Chesler's first long trip by plane and she enjoyed it immensely. im-mensely. Dr. K. G. Frazier left Friday morning to join his son, John Russell Frazier, at Granddaddy lakes for a week's fishing. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Zaccaria and daughter, Carol Ann, spent the week-end in Helper with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Zaccaria Sr. and in Castle Gate with Mrs. Theresa Tallerico. Sgt. Rudy Zaccaria, brother of Steve and Frank Zaccaria Zac-caria of this city, is now stationed station-ed at Rome. Ensign and Mrs. Arthur Durn-ford Durn-ford of St. Louis, Mo., arrived Tuesday to spend two weeks with Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Durn-ford Durn-ford of Copperton and Mr. and Mrs. J. Bruce Ivie of Bingham. Mrs. Arthur Durnford is the former Phyllis Ivie. Her husband, who is making his first trip home in 18 months, received his navy commission in June and reports at Plattsburgh Barracks, N. Y when he leaves here. He has been employed as a research chemist by General Chemicals at St. Louis. |
