Show Mr. and Mrs. Tom MeUen and daughter Louise, of Venice Calif arrived Sunday to v sit two weeks with Mr. and Mrs Edward Ed-ward Gaythwaite. Mrs. MeUtn parents, and Mr. and Mrs Stepn en Pickering of Copper on Mr. Mellen is Mrs. Pickering s brother, broth-er, and Mrs. John Reed of the DaiPra apartments sp ent tht week-end with her brotner, Frank Steele of Salt Lake City. Muscoveevii-s will meet at eight o'clock Tuesday. August 22, at the home of Mrs. John M. MJoAnm Sm.th of Lehi spent the week-end with her grandmother, grand-mother, Mrs. B. C. Snyder. Mrs Ray B. Carter and children child-ren of Oeeanside, Calif., are expected ex-pected to arrive today to make their home for the duration. Her husband has gone overseas witn the marines. Mr. and Mrs. B. John Turner and family have purchased a home at 217 Pioneer street, Sandy. John Etcheverry purchased purch-ased the Turner home at No. i Dixon avenue. Mrs. Turner is president of Central school Parent-Teacher association and she and her husband have been prominent in No. 2 Firemen and auxiliary activities. Virginia Piercey of Salt Lake City, a guest of Patsy Creedon at the John J. Creedon home for two weeks, was honored Tuesday Tues-day at a picnic supper in Butter-field Butter-field canyon. V" 20 small friends Monday. Games, ice cream, birthday cake and punch were served by Mrs. Mu-rano, Mu-rano, assisted by her niece, Carol Murano. Mrs. J. J. Barrett and son, Carl, and Mary Lou Lyon spent Sunday Sun-day in Ogden visiting Mrs. M. J. Hansen. The twelfth birthday of ReNee Johnston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Johnston, was occasion occas-ion for a delightful party at the Johnston home. Winning prizes at "Cootie" were Janell Hansen. Rhea Armitstead, Margy Isbell, and Lucille Peterson. Others enjoying en-joying the delicious luncheon and birthday cake were Margene Barlow, Bar-low, Roslyn Hansen, Marilyn and Janet Bolton, Alta Thorne, Matilda Ma-tilda Nickish, Patsy Murphy, Donna Hyland, Geraldeen Pollock, Pol-lock, Denece Johanson, Connie Stillman, Betty Ann Contratto, Shirley Johnston and Roberta Johnston. Mr. and Mrs. George Carrigan of Union were dinner guests Monday of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Johnston. Mrs. A. C. Larick entertained Wednesday afternoon at luncheon lunch-eon and a quilting. Her guests included Mrs. W. H. Trevarthen, Mrs. L. W. Sumnicht, Mrs. Harold Har-old Chesler, Mrs. Louis Buch-man, Buch-man, Mrs. W. A. Fike, Mrs. Bert Thomas, Mrs. Elliott W. Evans, Mrs. R. G. Frazier and Mrs. Louis L. Watson. Policeman and Mrs. Mark Caldwell are vacationing this in Vnrnn 1 Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Warner of 299 Main street are now making their home at Magna. Mr. and Mrs. Nick P. Floros and daughter, Athena, returned Saturday from a few days' visit in Salt Lake City and Magna. Mrs. Norma Rasmussen of Copperton and Mrs. Phyllis Durnford were luncheon guests Tuesday of Mrs. Ludwig Zorn. Ensign Arthur Durnford is now at Plattsburg, N. Y. No. 1 Firemen and auxiliary will hold their outing at six o'clock o'-clock next Monday evening at Copperton. Committee members in charge include Mr. and Mrs. Ray Tatton, Mr. and Mrs. Marlin Schultz, Mr. and Mrs. James Carrigan Car-rigan and Mr. and Mrs. Roland Warner. Mrs. Robert Elliott of Provo and Mrs. Curtis Jensen of Salt Lake City visited July 26-27 and 28 with Mr. and Mrs. William Cook. William Rogers returned July 27 from Needles, Calif., where he visited two months. Mrs. B. C. Snyder, Mrs. Stephen Steph-en McKnight met Mrs. Elliott Smith of Lehi yesterday to spend the day in Salt Lake City. Lt. and Mrs. Horace Forshay of Tooele visited July 27 at Lead Mine with Mr. and Mrs. Mike Nepolis. No. 2 Firemen's auxiliary met Monday evening as guests of Mrs. Wallace Johnson. Bridge prizes went to Mrs. La Veil Timothy Timo-thy and Mrs. T. A. Masters. Refreshments Re-freshments were served. : local notes: Women's Society of Christian Service will hold their regular noon luncheon Friday, today, with Mrs. W. H. Trevarthen and Mrs. Ernest Prigmore and Mrs. D. E. Ireland as hostesses. The ninth birthday of Earlene Copenhaver was celebrated Wednesday Wed-nesday evening from 6:30 to 9 o'clock at the home of her grandparents, grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. John T. West. Games, refreshments and birthday cake were enjoyed by Joan Beard, Dorothy Contratto, Patsy Stringham, Luana Glines, Marilyn Thorne, Pat Congdon and Cara Congdon, Mary Lou Robinett, Frances Goris, Claudia Evans and Denece Johanson. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Jenkins plan to leave tonight for a two-weeks' two-weeks' vacation at Provo.
