Show HONORS TO PLAYGROUND ALUMNI "Juvenile delinquency on the increase in small towns throughout the country", that's the report of a national authority au-thority on youth problem; who visited here during the week. Many have sensed th? serioir ncss of the situation and their researches into the matter h:ve convinced them that in those cities where the problem, i.; 'penally pressing, responsibility for unfortunate devoiupnk'r.t.s should be placed before those city leaders who have I :e:i slow to realize the necessity of providing healthful program.: for boys and girls. There and in the homes where .indilTcK'iit parents set an example of delinquency Bingham's summer playgrounds, which for a number of years have operated to the benefit of the many youngsters attending, are closing this week and next. All honors to the workers and leaders who have backed these community assets. as-sets. If Bingham's juvenile delinquency rate is low, and observers ob-servers claim this is true, it is because her youth has had work and play to occupy their time. And congratulations to the "graduates" of the summer baseball playground, who this week brought home their third Utah championship. Everyone in Bingham is just as proud of your achievement as your coach, Bailey J. Santistevan. A good number of us will turn out tonight, Friday, to see you play Provo in the exhibition benefit at 5:30 p.m. Good going and good luck, at home and at the sectional meet at which once again Bingham boys will represent Utah. |
