Show WILL IT BE YOU? MISS GALENA HAS A CHANCE TO BE Attention! Single girls of Bingham Bing-ham district. The Utah State Fair Ass'n. has granted the exclusive ex-clusive franchise for the state of Utah by the Miss America Pageant Pag-eant organization of Atlantic City, N.J., to select a candidate from Utah for the title of "Miss America". The Bingham Canyon city council is in receipt of a letter from Sheldon R. Brewster, secretary-manager of the Utah fair, asking that an entrant be made from this section of the state. He also stated that the winner in Utah will be sent to the "Miss America" Pageant at Atlantic City with all expenses paid. The local city council has turned turn-ed this matter over to Councilman Council-man Ken Shulsen. Mr. Shulsen incooperation with the junior chamber of commerce has suggested sug-gested that the one to represent this district be "Miss Galena", who will be chosen at a contest to be held at Princess theatre Tuesday evening, Sept. 5. To date, eight girls have entered en-tered "Miss Galena" contest. Bob Jimas, president of the Jaycees Jay-cees states that all girls enter-, ing will be given a nice gift. ! There will be special gifts for "Miss Galena" in addition to having hav-ing the honor to represent this district in the Utah contest. Deadline Dead-line for entries is Sunday, Sept. 3, and be made at Union Drug Co., Bingham Bulletin or Princess Prin-cess theatre. O |
