Show JAYCEES-CITY SPONSOR MEETS According to City Councilman Ken Shulsen, Bingham junior chamber of commerce youth welfare chairman, archery is becoming be-coming a favorite sport in this district. During the past week a tournament was held in lower Bingham under the direction of Mr. Shulsen. Awards were presented to Bernard Beard, Art Bentley, Davie Da-vie Breckon and Earl Sybrow-sky Sybrow-sky for being the best archers of the 20 men and boys entering the meet. An interesting feature of the scoring was the points taken a-way a-way for missing the target, this was the reason for the low scores in the special handicap match between Art Bentley Sr., Ray Buckle and Mr. Shulsen. Shulsen and Bentley tied for second with a minus 10, while Buckle won with a five plus. Buckle's score was just 540 points below Art Bentley Jr., the winner of the junior division. The Copperton squad was composed com-posed of Davie Breckon, Rudy Pino, Briggie Knudsen, Jerry Mike Curry and Amadeo Pino. Don Andreason, "Pee Wee" Jarred Jar-red and Kenneth Beckstrom, all of Bingham looked good. Mr. Shulsen announces that the next archery meet will be held Monday evening, August 21 at 5:00 o'clock, just below the Copper Co;tl and Lumber company. com-pany. All those interested, especially es-pecially the boys are invited to participate. Extra target arrows have been purchased, just bring your bow and join in the fun. o |
