Advices from the Wtst Indies say la grippe Is now touring through the Islands and is making Itself especially fill in the Island of Jamaica. There ar at present hundreds of cases of severe se-vere Influenza in the island, the affliction af-fliction having spread to every portion por-tion of the country. The doctors egrce that It Is genuine Russian iuflueuza, the eamu ''grl,.' which was epidemic epidem-ic In New Yolk last spring. There have been a great many cases in Kingston, and lost week many prominent business men of the city, including the postmaster-genera of the island, weio prostrated by the malady, some of them having been confined to their rooms for several days. A similar state of affairs is repotted from other towns and districts, dis-tricts, and the disease has evidently evi-dently taken full possession of the island. |
