One Night Of Play Remains In Hot M Men Loop; Round Robin Tourney Set For February Fifth Ward Defeats Leading Second Warders in Season's Upset ; Final Night's Schedule Is Jan. 29 Only one night of play remains in the Kolob stake M Men loop schedule before the four top teams battle it out in the big round robin tourney that will determine the stake champion.? January 29 is the date for the final fin-al night's play, with Fifth scheduled sched-uled to play Ninth at 7 p. m.; First and Sixth at 8, and Mapleton and Fourth at 9 p. m. The first two contests are vital ones and are expected ex-pected to be top battles. Top upset of the entire season came last Saturday night in the M Men play when the lowly Fifth ward team outfought, and out-scored out-scored the mighty Second warders 30-34, to win the plaudits of the rest of the league teams. The win, which has now made the season sea-son a success as far as the Fifth is concerned, also gives them a fighting opportunity to make the round robin meet, providing they can tip Ninth. Stellar playing of Jones and Clyde on the defensive, with Black, who counted 11 points, and Bissell, with 8, .aided the winners win-ners in the offensive count. Boyer played well also, hitting for 5 points. Ninth won handily over Fourth. 50-21, and First dumped Mapleton with a 40-23 score. Bjarnson hit for 16 points for the First. The entire Ninth club scored well. Last Wednesday night's games topped the entire year's play for three outstanding tilts. Every game was a thriller and well played. First outlasted Fifth by one basket as they won 39-37 in a game that saw both teams matching shot for shot and with few misses. Not more than two points difference throughout the greater part of the game, kept fans on edge. First made a brilliant bril-liant rally in the final minutes of the game and came out with the top score. The shooting of the Haws brothers and Bjarnson's outstanding out-standing play under the hoop, accounted ac-counted for the win. Black looked F. Eighth led the Second throughout the entire three quarters and only in the last 4 minutes did the Second pull out to win by a wide 26-37 margin. Johnson John-son was the big gun for Second with 14 counters. Hales, Groes-beck Groes-beck and Anderson topped the losers' scoring. A desperation shot by Kent Miner spelled doom for the Sixth ward as Sixth held a one-point lead with only 20 seconds left to play. Miner slushed one in from the side to give Ninth a 37-38 thrilling victory. The entire Ninth ward five scored heavily and kept the game on even terms all the way.
