Show MRS. CZIRR ENTERTAINS AUREOLE CLUB Members of the Aureole club were entertained Friday evening, Jan. 4th, at the home of Mrs. Herbert Czirr. There was a good attendance of members and one guest. After a delicious luncheon, the topic of the evening was presented by Mrs. L. L. Beach. She spoke on "Saga of the Stage", and in a very able manner, gave a most interesting resume of early-day plays and actresses, bringing the topic up-to-date. She told especially espec-ially of the lives of Maude Adams, whom - Utah - claim as a native; also of Helen Hayes' outstanding career, and a brief sketch of others. oth-ers. The speaker described the first playhouse at Salt Lake City which played a prominent part in the life of our pioneers. The talk was much appreciated by all the members, who contributed to the program and enjoyed a discussion of the subject. The next meeting is this week Friday evening, Jan. 18, at the home of Mrs. G. W. Friel. ' |
