Show Yearly Licensing Fee For Beer In County Decreased Lowering from $500 to $350 the yearly fee licensing the sale of beer in Utah county was aproved Friday by a 2-1 vote of the county coun-ty commissioners. After his dissenting vote was overruled by Commissioners J. Clark Elmer of Payson and Burton H. Adams of Pleasant Grove, Commissioner Com-missioner Reed J. Knudsen submitted sub-mitted a 19-point resolution to the commission asking that it be written writ-ten into the licensing ordinance to aid the enforcement of beer parlor regulations in the county. The commission, however, withheld with-held approval of the resolution on a statement of the County Sheriff Theron S. Hall of Springville that the points made in the resolution were already incorporated in the ordinances pertaining to the sale of beer. Commissioner Knudsen said that he would make a thorough investigation in-vestigation of the ordinances and if any or all the parts of his statement state-ment were missing he- would demand de-mand that they be written in. "No formal request " that the license fee be lowered has been made to the commission by county people to my knowledge." Knudsen said. "The state tavern owners organization did ask that it be allowed on Sunday, but that was two years ago," he noted. "On the other hand, a delegation of more than 50 church and civic leaders did appear recently before the commission formally protesting protest-ing the lowering of the fee," the commissioner said. |
