Show News Notes Mr. and Mrs. Ernest A. Strong recently returned from an enjoyable enjoy-able three-weeks trip to the eastern east-ern states. They went toy plane and returned with a new car spending spend-ing some time in Boston, Mass., in New York and other places of interest. A highlight of the trip was their visit with the artist, Mrs. Marguerite Pearson at her Roek-port, Roek-port, Mass. studio. They also visited visi-ted the site-of the late Cyrus E. Dallin's home and studio in Boston. Bos-ton. Mr., and Mrs.. Strong in company com-pany with their son Bert and wife left this week for a trip to Yellowstone Yellow-stone Park. C. W. Woyak and son Owen have gone to Pillsbury, N. D. and Mrs. Woyak and other members of the family plan to leave to make their home there soon. The family fam-ily formerly of North Dakota have been residing at Brookside. Mrs. Louise Olsen and little daughter of Harbor City, Calif., are visiting her father. James Childs and other relatives and friends in Springville. Mr. Olsen (Joseph) has just accepted a new position on the coast and was unable un-able to take his vacation at this time. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Newman in company with Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Newman of Mapleton left Wednesday Wed-nesday for a vacation to Yellowstone Yellow-stone Park. Enroute they plan to visit friends in Idaho 'and will be gone about a week. Carmen Hutchings has gone to St. George to work in the office of her father Dr. O. J. Hutchings for the summer.. She will return in the fall to continue her school work here. She is a daughter of Mrs. Wesley B. Hutchings of this city. Dr. and Mrs. W. L. Lowenstein and children of Terra Haute, Ind., left Monday to return to their home following a few days visit with Mrs. Lowenstein's mother, Mrs. George A. Anderson and other relatives and friends in Springville. They planned to return re-turn by way of the parks in southern Utah. Mr. and Mrs. John Hardy have returned from an enjoyable vacation vaca-tion trip to Mesa Verde National Park and other points of interest in that vicinity. They went as far as Shiprock, New Mexico and also al-so visited the Natural Brigde, national monument and cliff dwelling dwell-ing which are being unearthed in southeastern Utah. Mr. and Mrs.. Lester E. Davis had as their Sunday guests, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon McBride of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Grace Everett of Salt Lake City. Mrs. McBride and Mrs. Everett are sis- ters of Mr. Davis. Mr. and Mrs. Mack Crandall and daughters Catherine and Honey of St. George have returned re-turned to their home after a few days visit with Mr. Crandall's mother, Mrs. Belle Thomas. Their son Jimmie, who also came with them is remaining for an indefinte visit with his grandmother. |
