Eskimo Caramel Custard Cake VA cups sifted cake flour V cup Spry Vi cup sugar Vs cup water Vi teaspoons baking powder 2 tablespoons caramelized (or 2Vi teaspoons sugar sirup tartrate baking powder) 1 teaspoon vanilla Vz teaspoon salt 1 egg, unbeaten Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt into mixing bowl . . . Drop in Spry . . . Add water, caramelized sirup, and vanilla and beat 150 strokes (1 minutes by hand or on mixer at low speed) . . . Scrape bowl and spoon or beater . . . Add scalded milk grad- oughly dissolved. Cool. Add vanilla ually and blend. Cook over gently and sirup; mix thoroughly. Fold in boiling water 5 minutes, stirring whippedcreamandblcndthoroughly. |
