Show O- Red Devils Get Football Suits Today; First Game Sept, 9 The 1949 Grid season will be ushered in with the handing out of football togs this afternoon, and the first practice session being called following the is- suance of suits. $ Although it is too early yet to know just what kind of a club Coach George Pehrson will be able to round up, this year's edition should compare favorably with other years. However, the loss of 1st stringers Gordon Smith, Lloyd Hodson, Don Robertson, Grant Lloyd, Jim Thorn, Prank Hunt, Boyd Snow, Kay Bills, Richard Carter, Vernon Weight, Keith Beardall, Glen Sanford and Captain Cap-tain Jay Stewart, through graduation, gradua-tion, a new line and part of the backfield will need to be replaced. All these fellows played regularly throughout the season last year, but were graduated the' past spring. spr-ing. 1 Two pre-season football games have been lined up, the first one with Tooele for Friday, Sept. 9 at Tooele. The boys will travel to Fill-lmore Fill-lmore in a yearly traditional game on Sept. 16 before getting into the league schedule the following week. |
