According to the monthly water runoff report for July, released by the U S. Geological survey, the state still is reaping some benefit from the past severe winter. win-ter. Snowbanks from 10 to 15 ft. deep remain on the Wasatch plateau plat-eau east of Ephraim. Stream flow through most of the state ranged from 20 per cent to 85 per cent above normal with flow in the state's southeast portion por-tion among the highest 25 percent recorded in the country. While all but the extreme western west-ern portions of Utah showed above normal storage, stream flow ranged rang-ed from 8 to 16 jer cent below normal nor-mal in most of Idaho. Only the extreme southeast corner cor-ner of the state was in an area with flow above normal, and the northern tip was among the lowest low-est 25 per cent recorded in the country, approximately 35 percent below normal. |
