Show Utahras Pay Record Taxes Says Report For the second straight year, individuals in-dividuals and business firms in Utah paid a higher percentage of their total income in 1947 for state and local taxes than was required in any other of the 13 western states for which comparable compar-able data are available. That statement was made Tuesday Tues-day evening by Henry R. Pearson, Pear-son, director of the Utah Foundation, Founda-tion, in a talk before trust officers offi-cers of the Utah Bankers Assn. in Salt Lake. Mr. Pearson said his report was based on an annual tabulation made by the foundation using state tax collection figures as reported re-ported by the U. S. Bureau of the Census and local property tax data from tax administrators of the western states.. |
