And when you try5 her Prune Spice Cake you will agree. v Mrs. Fullmer said the cake is easy to make she seldom has a failure and is good to the last crumb. For lunches it is tops as it stays moist for a long time. PRUNE SPICE CAKE 2y2 cups of cake flour teaspoonful baking powder 1 teaspoonful soda y2 teaspoonful salt 1 teaspoonful each of .cloves, all spice and cinnamon y2 cup shortening 1 cups sugar 2 eggs well beaten 1 cup cooked .prunes cut in very small pieces 1 cup sour milk or buttermilk. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and soda and spices together. Cream shortening and add sugar gradually. Add eggs and prunes, then add dry ingredients alternately alternate-ly with liquid (sour milk or buttermilk) but-termilk) . Bake in oven about 350 degrees, approximately 45 minutes. |
