Show 'Money Invested How high costs have affected manufacturers was revealed in the recent annual report of one of the big automobile companies. The report re-port said it now costs an average of $8,000 to supply buildings and tools for each of its 380,000 employees, em-ployees, compared with $6,000 for each of 260,000 employees on the payroll before the war. "To provide employees with places to work and the necessary equipment and working capital, there was required at the end of 1947 a total investment almost double the average for the four pre-war years,", the company said. |
