Show . ENGINEERS ENGAGED TO MAKE SEWAGE SURVEY IN COUNTY According to a communication received by Mayor Sterling Price this week, the Utah county commissioners com-missioners have engaged an engineering firm to conduct a sewage survey of the county. It is expected that the survey will get underway immediately, the letter stated, in as much as it will be necessary to take summer samples of all sources of water and sewage effluent flowing into the lake. The letter to the mayor stated that it would be highly desirable and quite essential to the survey to obtain maps of existing sewer systems in each city where a sewer system has been installed as well as where sewage systems are going to be installed. The firm of Headman, Ferguson Fergu-son and Carollo of Phoenix, Ariz., with Ben H. Beverage and John M. Neff as resident associates, has been engaged to make the survey. The firm has been recommended by the state board of health. The engineers at the conclusion of the survey are expected to recommend the degree of sewage treatment required for the communities com-munities and industries discharging, discharg-ing, or planning to discharge, sewage or waste into Utah Lake and tributaries thereof to the end that wild life and aesthetic beauty will be preserved. The engineering firm will also be expected to set forth a comprehensive com-prehensive general plan of sewage and sewage treatment for the various communities and industries; indus-tries; to estimate the cost of sewage works necessary to accomplish accom-plish the treatment recommended and to estimate the cost of operation opera-tion of the sewage treatment plants. |
