Show quarters,- developing room and utility quarters, all on the second floor; new kitchen and mess hall tor 80 men on the first floor, and a seven-bed ward and three-bed detention room on the third floor. Completing hospital basement excavation, WPA workers installed install-ed food preparation and storage rooms, two additional storerooms, a sick hall, and water softening room and equipment. The north wing addition contains con-tains new elevator service and stairs. Ambulance platforms and loading zones are provided on the wings. Added improvements are being completed under private contract. NEW FACILITIES NEAR FINISH AT ARMY POST Improvements totaling more than $100,000, including addition of new east and north wings and full basement, are being completed complet-ed by WPA workmen at Fort Douglas post hospital. Begun in July, 193 9, the work has been under the direction of Lieutenant Colonel William L. Mays and Norman Stromness. Colonel Mays is constructing quartermaster quar-termaster on the post, with Mr. Stromness as WPA engineer in charge of improvement projects.
