Show HOPE MAC HI HONORS TORSE SHOW Stallion Owned By J. W. Grant Bins Five-Gaited Events At Lions Club Horse Show i HI Hope Mac, beautiful black stallion owned by Joseph W. Grant of this city and trained by Walter Reid, took the top honors in the Provo Lions club's second annual horse show held Friday and Saturday at the Utah county fairgrounds. This newcomer who was recently re-cently purchased by Mr. Grant in California, carried off both the five-gaited championship stake event held Saturday, as well as the combination five-gaited event conducted on Friday. Horses of Mr. and Mrs. Coy Hayward of Bountiful, and Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Burgess of Salt Lake City, also carried off major honors in the two-day show. Mary Steele McDonald, owned and driven by John Morrison of Salt Lake City, carried off the top prizes in the fine harness class while Conquistador, owned by Wallace Bennett of Salt Lake City and driven by Miss Ivers, took lie Junior fine harness event. More than ?600 in war bonds and stamps were given the win-ners- wWle three trophies also were awarded in the fine harness Pven by Don Ferguson; the three-Staited three-Staited open championship stake y Provo Chamber of Commerce and the five-gaited championship take by the Provo Lions club. In e. karee-gaited championship, a T ond was given by the First Swurity Bank of Provo, and a Mar award was presented by Z "e Banking Co., for we five-gaited championship.
