Show RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES... Summer recreational activities sponsored by the WPA, the city and the schools, are still holding interest for the many young folks of the community. Handicraft work, under the supervision of Mrs. Madge Crandall, is going forward for-ward at the city park with a large daily attendance. At the ball park, boys between the ages of 10 and 14 are enjoy-ably enjoy-ably playing and getting instructions instruc-tions in the great national sport, baseball. LaMar Weight is direct-ig direct-ig this daily afternoon program. The dancing program of the summer, under the direction of Miss Marjorie Child, was completed complet-ed last week. Miss Child had an approximate enrollment of 150 daily with a total enrollment of 200. Although a dance review was not conducted this year, many new and interesting dances were taught to the youngsters. Swimming for the ladies every Tuesday evening is stilL being carried car-ried out with very much success. The children's swimming course has been completed. Mr. Hughes states that a very successful course was enjoyed by a group of approximately 150 students during dur-ing the swimming period. |
