Show " H Junior Daughters Of Pioneers Are Organized D. U. P. County Officials Preside At First Meeting of Junior Camp Held Tuesday Evening Miss Anna Beardall was hostess to a group of young women at her home, Tuesday evening, who had met for the purpose of organizing a Junior Camp of Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, to be known as r"Camp Hobble Creek." This is the only Junior camp in the United States, with the exception of one in New York. Mrs. Sarah H. Passey of Provo, Pro-vo, Utah county D. U. P. president, presi-dent, conducted the meeting, assisted as-sisted by the first vice-president, Mrs. Ruth H. Brockbank of Spanish Span-ish Fork,, and the county historian, histor-ian, Mrs. Adria R. Porter of Provo. The following young women were elected as officers to serve for two years: Anna Beardall, captain; cap-tain; Madeline Weight, first vice-captain; vice-captain; Maud R. Nielson, second vice-captain; Margaret Childs, secretary; sec-retary; Louise Childs, treasurer; Naomi S. Beardall, registrar; Rhea S. Straw, historian; Virginia Simians, assistant historian; Audrey Au-drey M, Jensen, chaplain; Edna Oakley, assistant chaplain; Genevieve Gene-vieve K. Gardner, chorister; Mary Boyer, organist; Blanche D. Nielson, Niel-son, custodian of relics; Myrtle Childs, class leader. Other members are Lyle T. Childs, Mary H. Fillmore, and Beth Miller. . The members of this newly organized or-ganized group will hold regular monthly meetings, and a special session is called for Wednesday evening at the home of Captain Anna Beardall for the purpose of planning the coming year's work. "Utah, We Love Thee," was sung by the group, accompanied on the piano by Miss Mary Boyer; prayer, Captain Emma C. Beardall of Camp Kolob; instructions and purpose of the organization, Mrs. Sarah H. Passey, Mrs. Ruth H. Brockbank and Mrs. Adria R. Por ter. |
