Show LEGION AUXILIARY HEARS ESSAY The reading of the winning essays es-says on Americanism and a program, pro-gram, featured the meeting of the Legion auxiliary last Wednesday evening at Memorial hall, under direction of Mrs. Olive Miller, president. Russell Groesbeck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Berton Groesbeck, was first-place winner; Nell Jean Vane, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Vane, was the second; and Hal Clyde, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Clyde, was third. In :behalf of the Legion auxiliary, the winners were presented with war saving stamps as prizes by Mrs. Ella Crandall Americanism chairman chair-man in charge of the contest. Also during the evening, Nana-lee Nana-lee Reynolds entertained wtih a piano selection and Mrs. Roberta Green gave a vocal solo, accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. LaRell Johnson. Mrs. Florence Boyer, district president, pres-ident, also gave a short talk dur- ing the evening. At the close of the program, refreshments re-freshments were served by Mrs. Vilate Reynolds, Mrs. Thelma Clark and Mrs. Fern Whitney, hostesses. |
