Dr. Karl Young of the Brig-ham Brig-ham Young university will furnish the program. MRS. LLOYD BIT5D HOSTESS , TO BUSY FINGER CLUB E Members of the Busy Finger club were entertained Thursday - evening at the home of Mrs. Lloyd i Bird. All who attended brought their 1 VERSA TITjITY club ENTERTAINED THURSDAY Mrs. Russen Bird and Mrs Taylor Burt were co-hostesses to members of the Versatility club Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Burt. The evening was spent playing cards, and a delicious luncheon was served in conclusion. CULTURAL ARTS CLUB ENTERTAINED Members of the Cultural Arts club were entertained Wednesday evening at the home of Aileen Mc-Kenzie. Mc-Kenzie. Papers were given by Margaret Peirce and Clara Harmer on "Robert's "Ro-bert's Rules of Order,'' and 'Lives of Utah Writers," respectively. Musical selections were given by the Sargent children. Attending were Delia Baxter, Margaret Christensen, Mary Fillmore, Fill-more, Clara Harmer, Ida Packard, Cora Ellis, Theora Peterson, Lois Thorn, Elaine Crandall, Coe Straw, Elzina Laney, Margaret Peirce, Naomi Peirce, and the hostess. Special guests were Evelyn Jordan Jor-dan and Ercell Clark. AD LIBITUM CLUB ENJOYS BRIDGE PARTY Ad Libitum club members were delightfully entertained Monday evening at the home of Miss Margaret Mar-garet Peirce. At small tables centered with cerise chrysanthemums, dinner was served at 8 o'clock, after which bridge was played, with favorite song and the group sang the songs during the afternoon. The ladies also spent some time at sewing. Present were the following: Mrs. Merle Sargent, Mrs. Charles Porter, Mrs. Reed Straw, Mrs. Bertram Dallin, Mrs. Bill Hansen, Mrs. Eldon Beardall, Mrs. Frank Cranmer, and special guests were Mrs. Clarence Jensen and Mrs. David Friel. ALPHA BETA CLUB HEARS SOCIAL WORK PAPER Mrs. William Witney was hostess hos-tess to members of the Alpha Beta club at her home Friday afternoon. af-ternoon. "Women in Social Work," was the subject of an Interesting paper pa-per given by Mrs. G. L. Barron. Musical numbers in the form of vocal duets were given by Mrs. May Groesbeck and Mrs. Oliver Dalton, "On Wings of Song," and "The Night Wind." VEDA CU B KN'TIORTAINS PARTNERS AT IIAASR CAFF, One of the outstanding parties of tho past week was that given by the Veda club, men's organization, organi-zation, at the Huase cafe in Provo. Entertnlnment comprised a banquet, ban-quet, program, and dance, and approximately 75 members and guests attended. CAMP KOI, OH D. IT. P. .M10F.TS THURSDAY Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Camp Kolob, met Thursday at the home of Mrs. LaRue Walker, with Captain Emma Beardall in charge. Mrs. Margaret Blackett gave the history of her grandmother and grandfather, Mr. and Mrs. Wntson, and Mrs. Willis Sumsion gave a lesson on "English Contribution Contri-bution to Pioneer Life." A piano solo was given also by Analee Walker. Mrs. Flossie Sanford, vice-captain, gave a report of the convention conven-tion held recently. Refreshments were served to approximately forty members who attended, by the hostess and assisting as-sisting hostesses, Sarah Dalton, Jeannie Peirce, Bertha Rothwell, and Patience Clark. HUSBANDS ENTERTAINED AT CLU R PARTY One of the most entertaining parties of the week was that given for members of the Busy Finger club and their partners Friday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cranmer. All came dressed in funny costumes, cos-tumes, with the prize for the costumes cos-tumes going to Mrs. Stella Straw, who dressed as a negro mammy. Monte Carlo Whist was the diversion, di-version, with first prizes going to Marge Bird and Eldon Beardall, and consolation to Bertrum Dallin and Mrs. Olea Sargent. A delicious luncheon was served to nine club members and their partners, and Mr. and Mrs. Walt Wheeler of Provo, special guests. LEGIONT AUXILIARY HOLDS MONTHLY" MEETING Under the direction of President Presi-dent Ada Barron, the regular monthly meeting of the Legion Auxiliary was held Wednesday at the Memorial hall, with Legion members as special guests. The program featured several short talks by high school students stu-dents under the direction of Hugh Baxter, political science instructor, instruc-tor, who also spoke briefly, and several musical numbers were enjoyed. en-joyed. The program was on national defense, with Chairman Olive Miller in charge. prizes for the games going to Mrs. Helen Rowland. Members present were Dona Collins, Evelyn Jordan, Naomi Peirce, Aileen McKenzie, Elaine Crandall, Ida Packard, Lola Smith, Helen Rowland, Berniece Angell, Wanda Peay, and special guests were Delia Baxter, Mrs. Evelyn Fry, Mrs. Harold Lawrence, and Ercell Clark. JOVALTY CLUB ENTERTAINED AT VALLEY TAVERN Mrs. Luell Best was hostess to members of the Jovalty club Friday Fri-day evening at the Valley Tavern. Dinner was served at one long table, with a beautiful centerpiece of chrysanthemums gracing the table. Bridge was played later in the evening, with first prize going to Mrs. Afton Palfreyman, and Mrs. Emma Childs, second. Members present were Lucille Packard, Ann Stewart, Carrie Jolley, Jol-ley, Louise Brown, Afton Palfreyman, Palfrey-man, Clara Childs, Margaret Sumsion, Sum-sion, Merle Packard, Mary Bird, Sarabell Stewart, and special guests were Mrs. Elma Childs and Mrs. Evelyn Williams. LYLE BUNKER HONORED AT FAREWELL PARTY A farewell party for Lyle Bunker, Bun-ker, who is leaving soon for the Spanish-American mission, was held Friday night at the home of Mrs. J. R. Norton. Approximately forty - three guests attending presented Mr. Bunker with gifts. Various games were played and refreshments were served in conclusion. con-clusion. Mr. Bunker is the son of Mr. a'nd Mrs. Arthur Bunker of Delta. He has been living with Mrs. Norton Nor-ton and going to Brigham Young university for the past year and a half. MOTHERS' STUDY CLUB ENTERTAINED FRIDAY Members of the Mothers' Study club were entertained Friday at the home of Mrs. Willis Sumsion. Entertainment included a talk on international relations by Lee Valentine of the Brigham Young university, and violin selections by Mrs. Eileen Bird, accompanied by Mrs. Belle Thomas. Refreshments were served to approximately twenty-five in conclusion. con-clusion. The next meeting will be held Friday, November 22, at the home of Mrs. Catherine Sumsion, with Mrs. William L. Schreiner giving the program. In conclusion refreshments were served by Hostesses Marjorie Davis, Da-vis, Mary Frandsen, Thelma Clark, Blanch Beal, Lela Packard, Pack-ard, and Margaret Huntington. PARANADA CLUB MEMBERS HEAR BOOK REVIEW Mary Boyer was hostess to members of the Paranada club at her home Monday evening. Luncheon was served early in the evening, buffet style, after which the hook, "I Married Adventure," Ad-venture," by Osa Johnson, was given in an interesting manner by Mrs. Blanche Beal. 1 Several violin selections were ' given by Mrs. Eileen Bird, accom- i panied on the piano by Mrs. Belle Thomas. Those present were Arlene Christensen, Tonie Fox, Beth Johnson, Edna Oakley, Virginia Simkins, Fern Ostler, Norda Fin-linson, Fin-linson, Mrs. Beal, Mrs. Bird, Mrs. Thomas, and the hostess. I i MRS. ROWLAND HOSTESS TO S. T. CLUB Mrs. Amasa Rowland was hostess hos-tess to members of the S. T. club at her home on Thursday evening. Following a delicious luncheon served at small tables early in the evening, progressive contract bridge was played. High score prize for the games went to Mrs. Melba Pennington. Eleven other club members were present. The next meeting was announced announc-ed for Wednesday, November 27, at the home of Mrs. Hazel Harrison. Har-rison. DLVNER HONORS DEPARTING MISSIONARY Kent Fielding, who is leaving soon for the Texas mission, was guest of honor at a dinner party given Saturday evening by Cleo Pierce at her home. Covers were laid for Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Fielding, Andrew Pierce, Clifford Pierce, the guest of honor, and the hostess. THANKSGIVING THEME USED AT "CLUB 13" PARTY Carrying out a Thanksgiving theme, a delightful party was held by the recently organized "Club 13" at the home of Mrs. Claire R. Bagley Friday night. Luncheon was served early, after af-ter which games and cards were enjoyed throughout the evening. Officers were selected as follows: fol-lows: Mrs. Myrle L. Cloward, president; Mrs. Carol A. Woodward, Wood-ward, vice-president; Mrs. Lucille M. Alleman, secretary-treasurer; Konda R. Lee, reporter. Attending were Mrs. Marjorie C. Miner, Mrs. Shirley M. Child, Mrs. Myrle L.
