Show U. S. EMPLOYEE SALARY TAX IS PROPOSED Legislation permitting the state to tax the salaries of federal officials of-ficials and employees residing in the state was advocated in the biennial bi-ennial report of Attorney General Joseph Chez. Mr. Chez also recommended that: "All legal work of various state agencies, commissioners, boards and departments be handled exclusively ex-clusively through the office of the attorney general. "Our present grand jury system sys-tem be revised and simplified in order that prosecutions by grand juries may be made more modern and effective. "Every person who gives or offers of-fers any bribe to any executive officer in this state, or to any peace officer, or to any person authorized au-thorized to enforce the law, with intent to influence him in respect to any action, decision, vote, opinion, opin-ion, or other proceeding, as such representative of the law, is guilty guil-ty of a felony." |
