In the closest and most hotly contested M Men game seen here in the past few years, First eked out a 25-26 victory over the league leading Mapleton five here Monday Mon-day 'night to throw the title race into a tie. Mapleton, led by Mack Holley, who played one of his best games to date, and Niel Whiting, grabbed an early lead and managed man-aged to cling on to it throughout the greater part of the game, always al-ways leading by one, two or three points. Not until the final quarter did the First finally catch up and pass their rivals. With the score reading read-ing 24 to 25 for the Mapleton five, Dallin tossed in a charity throw to tie the game and L. Weight put the First in lead with another. Three minutes later, the contest was over, with neither team making any further points. Second fell to th Fourth 36-29 in the other M Men game. Wardle and Shimizu with 12 and 13 counters coun-ters respectively, led the winners while Jeff Miner with 14 points scored highest for the losers. FIRST G T F P W. Weight, f 3 10 6 R.
