Show w . Gladys Weight has spent two weeks' vacation visiting Vera Bartholomew, stationed with the WAVES at- San Diego, Calif., and with other friends on the coast. Mrs. Aleen B. Harding and daughter, Mary Anna, of Long Island, N. Y., visited the past week with relatives and friends in Springville. She is also visiting visit-ing with relatives and friends at Payson. She spent a few days earlier in the month with her brother, Hailey Bird, and wife at Berkeley, Calif., and will return to New York early in July. Leon Blackley spent the past week vacationing with friends at Logan. Ruth Scott of Salt Lake City, spent the week end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George E. Roy-lance, Roy-lance, a guest of Norma Roylance. Mrs. A. C. Chader and Mrs. G. L. Barron were in Salt Lake City Friday, to attend the WAC Mothers' tea held at the officers' club at Fort Douglas. Mrs. A. L. Thorpe is spending a few days' vacation with her son, Russell Thorpe, and family in California. Cal-ifornia. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Metcalf and daughter, Marilyn and son, Welby, and Mr. and Mrs. Russen Bird returned this week from a four days' trip to Fish lake. Lt. and Mrs. Paul Hansen ' visited vis-ited briefly the past week with Mrs. Hansen's father, Will Parry in Springville, and also with relatives rela-tives in Salt Lake City. Lt. Hansen Han-sen had a five day furlough and they left by plane Friday for his station at Salina, Kansas. Lorna Metcalf left Tuesday to visit relatives and friends in Richmond and San Francisco, Calif. Mrs. Austin Roylance and her granddaughter, Barbara Kelly, left Tuesday for a few days visit with Mrs. Roylance's daughter, Mrs. J. D. Schalmanini and family at San Francisco, Calif., and with other relatives and friends at Oakland, and Richmond, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Thorpe, accompanied by Mrs. Almah M. Johnson, left early this week to spend a few days in California. Mrs. Johnson will join her husband, hus-band, Blaine Johnson, at Santa Ana, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Thorpe will visit their daughter, Mrs. Floyd Stewart and husband near Camp Cook, Calif. Mrs. Nell Alleman and daughter, daugh-ter, Mary Nell, have returned from a two weks' visit with relatives rel-atives and friends in California. They went especially to see Mrs. Alleman's brother, Dick Bell, who is seriously 111. Mrs. Lena Maycock and daughter, daugh-ter, Cecelia, left Wednesday for Tuscon, Ariz., to visit their daughter daugh-ter and sister, Mrs. Rulon A. Earl and family. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Huefner of Salt Lake City, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Perham over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Alleman were in Salt Lake City last Thursday Thurs-day evening at a social honoring Robert Houtz, son of Mr. and Mrs. K. R. Houtz of Roosevelt, who was home on leave from the navy. The entertainment was held at Liberty Park. Mrs. A. H. Cranmer and Mrs. Victor Anderson spent the week end with their husbands at Las Vegas, Nev., returning - to their homes by plane on Sunday. Mrs. Bert Palfeyman went to Douglas, Ariz., to attend the graduation grad-uation exercises of her son, Kent, Who received his wings and a flight officer's rating on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. G. Ray Jones, (Jane Alleman) of Salt Lake City, visited over the week end with Mrs. Jones' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Alleman. Mrs. Zelma Beardall and Mrs. Hilda Cherrington visited two days last week with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sanford and family at Nephi. Mrs. Gladys J. Nelson of Marys-ville, Marys-ville, Calif., is spending a few weeks with her sister, Mrs. Fred Weight and family in Springville. Mrs. Blaine Wheeler has returned re-turned home after spending a few weeks with her husband, who was stationed at Fort Ord, Calif. Mrs. Verna A. Brienholt of Los Angeles, Calif., is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Allen, who also recently returned from California. |
