Show SPRINGVILLE IS OVER TOP IN FIFTH WAR LOAN City Purchases $83,700 To Increase Town's Purchase Of Bonds Springville has gone over the top in the current bond drive, purchasing pur-chasing more than its quota of war bonds in the Fifth Victory loan. This announcement was made this week by committee chairmen who, with a large corps of volunteer volun-teer workers have put in many hours to make the drive a success in this city. The town's quota is $453,000 and while this amount has been more than subscribed, there is yet time for all those who desire, to get in on the Fifth big drive, and every dollar will be needed to reach the county, state and national na-tional quota. Aiding materially with the town's quota, was an $83,700 purchase pur-chase of bonds made by the city. These are short term bonds. A total of $53,471 in E bonds had been purchased up until Wednesday. Wednes-day. , Mrs. Paul Thorn, chairman of the ladies' division of the drive stated that the L. D. S. Relief Society women of the town have done a magnificent job in their house to house canvass which is now 95 percent complete, and that splendid cooperation has been given giv-en by others working for the success suc-cess of the campaign. Much credit, cred-it, Mrs. Thorn stated, should also go to the girls at the bank, who have put in much extra time during dur-ing the drive. Townspeople contacted by the Relief Society, have responded in a patriotic manner and in practically practic-ally every call, expressed a willingness will-ingness to do their bit to end the war. |
