Show IMPROVEMENTS FOR ROADS CONTEMPLATED Nine Organizations Represented At Meeting Monday Improvements for roads in and near Springville and Mapleton were discussed at a meeting of County Commissioners and representatives repre-sentatives of civic organizations, held under the direction of Ernest A. Strong, chairman of the Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce highways committee, com-mittee, Monday morning in the Memorial hall. Attending the meeting were representatives of the Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis club, Junior Chamber of Commerce. Mapleton Town Board, Springville mayor and city council, Utah Poultry Producers Ass'n., Fruit Growers Ass'n., farmers of the valley, American Am-erican Legion, and other interested interest-ed citizens: More than forty were present. The county commissioners were very favorable to the requests made for their support in connection connec-tion with the road improvements and gave their promise to support the matter in a meeting to be held with the Utah State Road commission com-mission at an early date. Among other improvements mentioned at this meeting was the proposal to have the Springville Spring-ville Main street center section paved from Fourth South to connect con-nect with the underpass road and from First North to Fourth North, also the curb and gutter to be added to these sections mentioned. |
