Show 1 Local Twin Sisters Will Celebrate 8oth Birthday - . a. with citizens of this community and friends of these twin sisters in extending congratulations on their natal day. r Mrs. Emma Cranmer and Mrs.-Emily Mrs.-Emily Crandall, twin sisters and life-long residents of Springville, will celebrate theireightieth birthday birth-day on Friday. Complimenting Mrs. Cranmer, a picnic dinner is planned by her son and daughter, to be held in the canyon on Friday, for their families. ' Mrs. Crandall is in Ogden with her daughter, Mrs. Charles Thorstensen, Thors-tensen, who will give a birthday dinner for her mother. The twin sisters were born in Springville, July 30, 1863, daughters daugh-ters of William and Christiana Al-leman Al-leman Sumsion. They have always lived here and have been closely associated throughout their lives. Mrs. Cranmer, who declares she is the older by a very short time, was married to Joseph Cranmer on Jan. 4, 1890, at Provo, and later lat-er they received their endowments in the Salt Lake City temple. He died June 29, 1923. She has taken an active part in church and civic affairs. For more than fifty years, she was a Relief Society teacher. She was secretary secre-tary of one of the first Primary organizations in Springville and also taught in Religion class a number of years ago. She was a member of the Springville Old Folks committee for many years, and is a charter member of the Daughters of Pioneers, Camp Springville. In recent years, she has done much temple work. Her children are Frank Cranmer Cran-mer of Springville and Mrs. Ann Nelson of Spanish Fork. She also has seven grandchildren. Mrs. Emily Crandall was married mar-ried to David A. Crandall, Jan .16, 1888, in the Logan temple. Like her sister, she has been active all of her life in church and community commun-ity affairs. For sixteen years she was the president of the Second Ward Relief Re-lief Society and has also served many years as a teacher. She served as captain of the Camp Aaron Johnson Daughters of Utah Pioneers of which she is a charter char-ter member. She was also a member mem-ber of the Springville Old Folks committee for many years. Both she and Mrs. Cranmer have been interested in genealogy work. Mrs. Crandall has also done much temple tem-ple work. Her children are Mrs. Charles Thorstensen of Ogden, and D. Ford Crandall of Salt Lake City. She has three grandchildren, one of whom is a major in the armed forces. The Springville Herald joins |
