Complete For 1 Building Project i ; Work Expected To Get Under Way On New ' Homes In Sub-Division About i The Middle Of August, City Officials Told "preliminary plans are progressing on the pro-' pro-' nosed Springville housing project in which 163 homes L to be built in this city, it was announced Wednes- Members of the city council, ' ' r W. Clyde, and officers ' Hie Chamber of Commerce met , tli Mr. Norton, head of the con-tmction con-tmction company which will build the homes, and their attor-' attor-' L and architect, last Thursday evening, and an agreement was reached in regard to a franchise so that water, electric power and sewer will be made available. The construction company officers offi-cers also showed the council members mem-bers the sketches of homes to be built in the new sub-division. The homes are to be built in a variety of designs, all in the upper bracket brack-et and will constitute the finest homes possible, they stated. The building project is expected to relieve somewhat the housing problem created in this locality by the increase of defense workers. It is expected that actual construction con-struction will begin about the middle of August, according to Chamber of Commerce officials, who have worked untiringly on the project. Committments must be received from the FHA at San Francisco, Calif., then the construction con-struction arcHitect will submit specifications to the city to get building permits. These preliminary prelimi-nary details are expected to take about two or three weeks. Preceding the meeting with construction con-struction officials, members of the city council and Chamber of Commerce Com-merce went over' the proposed building site which takes in the whole property known as the William Wil-liam Sumsion and Willis Sumsion farms, the north part of which borders on Fourth street, at about Seventh East street. New streets will be constructed through the sub-division and curbing curb-ing will also be installed. The building lots will be landscaped and the project will present a very modern and artistic part of the city. |
