Show GEORGE BALLIF CANDIDATE FOR DOMINATION George S. Ballif, former judge, former county attorney-of Utah county, and prominent Provo lawyer, law-yer, today announced his candidacy candi-dacy for the Democratic nomination nomina-tion for state attorney general in the September primary election. The son of John L. and Emma Smith Ballif, Mr. Ballif was born in Logan. He is a grandson of early, Cache county pioneers. Seeks Nomination . . . i1 1 1 11 1 v ; ' ,'.' ' t "- -rr i.ru mk L.iit. d GEORGE S. BALLIF i For years Mr. Ballif has been active in civic, church, legal and Political circles in Utah county, i He served as a missionary for the ' L. D. S. church in France and England from 1914 to 1916. In ; 1918 he entered the service of the nation in the World War and was assigned to the 91st Division. He N served overseas for one year and Participated in three major en- gagements. Since the war he has been active among ex-service men, being a leader in the American Legion Post No. 13 in Provo, and having served as Utah department commander of the Legion in 1931 and 1932. He has been admitted to practice prac-tice law in the federal and state courts in Utah and the federal courts in Idaho. He was elected judge of the Provo City court in 1924 and served serv-ed in that capacity for four years. |
