Show JAYCEES SET IMPORTANT MEET, AUG. 22 T. Earl Pardoe To Discuss Post-War Planning, All Townspeople Invited The Junior Chamber of Commerce Com-merce is sponsoring a meeting at Memorial hall next Tuesday evening, eve-ning, August 22, beginning at 8:00 p. m., to discuss post-war planning. plan-ning. The meeting, reported to be one of vital importance to all townspeople, towns-people, will feature Dr. T. Earl Pardoe of Provo, as the principal speaker. Members of the Chamber of Commerce, the city counsil, Ki-wanis Ki-wanis club, the American Legion and Junior Chamber are urged to attend the meeting to discuss and probably formulate some plan for the post-war era in Springville. A special invitation is also extended ex-tended to all service men who are visiting in the town, to attend, and if possible offer any suggestion which they might have on the post-war planning program. Also, Verl Whiting, who has been in charge of a project in which questionnaires were sent to servicemen asking about their intentions in-tentions and desires for the after-the-war period, will give some very interesting material in connection con-nection with answers received from the letters. President Ernest Boyer, of the local Junior Chamber, states that "this is your meeting and it gives you a chance to prove to your boys over there that we are working work-ing hard to make America ready to welcome them home." The third annual Jaycee boat party was held on Utah Lake last Saturday, evening and was reported report-ed as one of the outstanding social events of the season. The boat left the dock at 8:30 p. m., with 120 people on board I and sailed out onto a beautiful, calm lake. The boat was out for three hours, during which time everybody enjoyed dancing and visiting. And everyone brought a box lunch. The boat returned at 11:30 p. m., and all had an exceptionally excep-tionally enjoyable evening.
