Show Cathedrals in Europe Described at Club A talk and pictures of famous cathedrals in Europe were enjoyed by ladies of the Home Culture club when they met on Friday afternoon after-noon of last week at the home of Mrs. Waldo W. Jackson. Arthur R. Watkins was the speaker and he gave interesting comment on the history of the cathedrals stating that each had a personality of its own. They are always built to face west and some are as old as 4000 years, he said. He told of the architecture in the buildings and said that the windows win-dows in many buildings could not be duplicated. He also described the catacombs in Rome and told of their history. Special guests at the meeting were Mrs. C. A. Smith, Mrs. Del-Moine Del-Moine Christensen and Mrs. E. V. Crandall, who with members enjoyed en-joyed a nicely arranged lunch at the close of the meeting. The closing meeting of the year will be next Friday at the home of Mrs. L. E. Eggertsen, the president, presi-dent, Mrs. C. W. Judd, announced. |
