Seniors Receive Scholarships to College Next Year Scholarships have been granted a number of Springville high school seniors to attend college next year, according to announcement announce-ment by Dee Sanford through whom the awards were handled. Howard Weight, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nolan Weight has received a four-year scholarship to the Brig-ham Brig-ham Young University. Other students stu-dents who have been awarded one-year one-year scholarships to the BYU are Marilyn Thorpe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Thorpe; Lucille Bryan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lauren Bryan; Jimmie Olsen, son of Mrs. Pearl Olsen; Bernell Lov-eridge, Lov-eridge, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Loverige; Merrill Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Johnson; Lloyd Castleton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Castleton and John Beardall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Beardall. John Beardall also received a one-year scholarship to the University Uni-versity of Utah as did Billie Bleg-gi, Bleg-gi, son of Mr. and Mrs. Angelo Bleggi and Tim Moss, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Moss. Scholarships for one year to the Utah State Agriculture College have also been awarded to Uvonne Bigelow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alton Bigelow; Geraldine Jensen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Clar-ence Jensen and Lenore Crandall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo A. Crandall. In addition, Gordon Thorpe, son of Mr. and Mis. Arthur Thorpe has also received the Sears scholarship schol-arship to the USAC next year. Ruth Stewart, who makes her home with a brother, Floyd Stewart Stew-art and family, has also received the $100 scholarship from the PTA for Utah Region 2, it was announced announc-ed today. |
