Mr. and Mrs. Ruel Jensen are happy over the arrival of a new grandson born to their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs Don Clark of Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Verl Jensen were joined by several of their relatives at a social evening in commemorating commemor-ating their twenty-first wedding anniversary Saturday. Their guests included Chris Jensen, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Freeman, Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Jensen and Mr. and Mrs. Alma Jensen. Games and refreshments refresh-ments were enjoyed. Verl and his wife were presented with a lovely gift. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Clements and four children of Ogden spent the weekend at the home of her sister and brother-in-law Mr. and Mrs Hugh Hjorth. Mrs. Clements is the former Catherine Ann Mendenhall. He will attend at-tend a crop insurance convention which is being held there this week. Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Durrant of Cedar City spent a day with his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John L. Parry. Mrs. Lora Bird entertained the members of the Needle Craft Club at her home Thursday afternoon where the time was spent in quilting quilt-ing a border print quilt. Mrs. Millie Bird, Mrs. Bird Nielson, Mrs. Blanch Tew and Mrs. Jennie Tew assisted the hostess in serving refreshments re-freshments to twelve club members. mem-bers. . Mrs. Roy Tew and children of Provo are making their home with Mrs. Jennie Tew this summer while Roy is in Fairbanks, Alaska, The recreation board of Mapleton Maple-ton is sponsoring a course in swimming this summer. The course consists of sixteen lessons which include bus fare to and from Park RoShe, for five dollars. Anyone interested in-terested please sign up with Glen Martin. Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Pate who have been living in Moab, spent the weekend in Mapleton. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Taylor of Salt Lake City were Sunday visitors visi-tors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ried M. Hales. Mrs. Esther Hurst accompanied her nephew Boyd Asay to Leslie, Idaho, and spent a week at the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Prel Asay. The Genealogy class of the Mapleton Ma-pleton ward Sunday School honored honor-ed their outgoing officers at a social so-cial in the Relief Society room of the church Wednesday night of last weke. Mrs. Louise Nelson is the retiring retir-ing class instructor and the other retiring officers are Waldon Hurst, class president, Mrs. Marva Whit- where he is employed. Dr. and Mrs. Max Morgan were in Salt Lake City Thursday on combined business and pleasure. They visited at the homes of his brother Dennis Morgan. Mrs! Sterling Bahr of Salt Lake City (Ruth) spent the week at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Hatfield. . The closing social for the Mapleton Maple-ton Second ward Relief Society was held Wednesday morning commencing com-mencing at ten o'clock. The program pro-gram was arranged by Erma Hjorth and Marilyn Tuttle. A poem was read by Eva Bird and a story-was story-was given by Mary Wright. Music was furnished by Beth Jensen and Lenore Bills and by a double trio consisting of Alma Whiting, Lora Bennett, Joyce Whiting, Evelyn Allen, Louise Schwartz 'and Beth i Larsen. Light refreshments were served. Corporal and Mrs. Lyle Richard Booth are happy over the arrival of a baby boy born to them at the base hospital at Camp Pendleton, Calif., last week. This new baby is the first grandchild of Mr. and Mrs. Verl Jensen and also of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Booth of Mapleton. Mr. and Mrs. Verl Jensen plan to leave Friday for California to see the new grandson. Mrs. Jensen plans to stay two weeks at the Booth home while Verl will return the next day.
