Show Scout Outing Set June 17; Jamboree Openings Available Kolob Stake Scouters and their wives or partners are invited to a Hamberger Fry and outing at Kelly's Grove next Wednesday evening, June 17, beginning at 7 p.m., announces Commissioner El-wod El-wod Loveridge. Over 75 people are expected. All committeemen, Scout Masters Mas-ters and Explorer advisers are invited in-vited and are also asked to contact con-tact their respective institutional representative and let him know who will attend. The institutional advisers will report the number to Mr. Loveridge not later than Sunday, Sun-day, June 14. The outing will take the place of the regular district meeting which is usually held the third Wednesday of the month. In connection with the outing, regular reports will be made. Board of Reviews The Scout Board of Reviews is scheduled on Wednesday, June 24 and officials expect to conduct the Court of Honor the first Sunday Sun-day in July in an outdoor meeting meet-ing befre the Scouts and Scouters leave for the National Jamboree on the west coast. Jamboree Openings Commissioner Loveridge reports there are a few openings available' for Scouts to go to the National Jamboree. The latest available figure fig-ure listed 36 Scouts and three adults going from the Kolob district dis-trict and this is the largest number num-ber of any town in the vicinity, except Provo, Mr. Loveridge said. The group will leave by chartered bus on July 11 and return July 25, the cost of the trip being $170 which includes insurance on the boys, meals, etc. Each Scout will furnish his own uniform and sleeping sleep-ing equipment. They are being advised ad-vised to take not more than $10 for spending money on the trip. A total of about 540 Scouts and Scouters are going from the entire en-tire council. A number of tourist attractions and places of historical interest are included on the Jamboree schedule including a visit to the submarine base at San Francisco, a tour of the coast in the Los Angeles An-geles area and a full day at San Diego harbor, where the Scouts will be taken on a tour of a battleship. |
