Binks ; Phone 0109-K4 j Mrs. Lora Bird and Mrs. Esther Hurst went to Nephi Monday to attend the funeral services of a cousin Mrs. Loa Oldroyd who died Friday. A group of old friends enjoyed a skating party at the roller rink in Provo Monday night after which they met at the home of Mr. and Mis. Paul Jensen for a hot supper. Attending the party were Mr. and Mrs. Cornell Binks of Payson and Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Sorensen of Spanish Fork. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Molder and their daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Alton Cryer of Sils-bee, Sils-bee, Texas, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gividen. They also attended general conference in Sa!i Lake City. Lt. and Mrs. Donald P. Frand-sen Frand-sen left Friday for Fairbanks, Alaska, where he is stationed with the army. Mrs. Frandsen and her son Bobbv have been making their home with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. S. Hopla during the past year. Donald has completed a two weeks furlough visiting, at the home of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Paul Frandsen and with o'ther J friends and relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Whiting accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Martha Whiting Whit-ing left Monday morning for an extended trip to the eastern coast. Mr. Whiting plans to purchase a new Buick at Flint, Michigan in which they will complete their trip. They will vist wth Mr. and Mrs. Walter Cox at Fairless Hill, Pen-nsvlvania, Pen-nsvlvania, where Martha Whiting will remain. They will also visit Mr. and Mrs. Donald Allan (Thora) and their family who live in New York. From there they will travel to Norfolk, Virginia, and be guests of the Sullivan family. They expect to be gone a mortth. D. S. Hopla was rushed to the Utalr Valley hospital Thursday morning for emergency treatment after being struck by a falling tree. He is back home and his condition con-dition is good, i Cornell Davis of Phoenix, Arizona, Ari-zona, was a guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Binks Sunday. He came here especially to attend general conference in Salt Lake City. The people of the Mapleton ward were highly entertained Sunday evening in church by the a cappella chorus of the Springville high school under the direction of their instructor Glenn A. Montague. They gave an outstanding performance per-formance and were well received by all who heard them. Mr. Floyd L. Cryer of Buna, Texas, has been a guest at the home of his daughter and her husband, hus-band, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gividen. Givi-den. He came especially to attend general conference in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Gividen will return to his home with him with her two children and plans to spend a month with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer W. Bird were visitors Sunday at the home 'of his sister, Mrs. Jennie Hill of Salt Lake City. Other visitors at her home were Mr. and Mrs. Hy-rum Hy-rum Manwaring of Idaho, and Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Mendenhall of Stockton, California, who came to Salt Lake City to attend general conference. |
