Show Youth, Missionary Talks Feature Kolob Stake Quarterly Conference ft .V .V The Youth of Kolob stake re-' ceived special instruction and a number of inspirational talks were given at the quarterly conference sessions held Saturday evening and Sunday in the stake house. The conference opened with a stake priesthood leadership meeting Saturday Sat-urday evening, under the direction of President Ernest A. Strong. Bishop Joseph L. Wirthlin of the presiding bishopric represented the general authorities at the conference confer-ence and Joseph J. Nichols of the BYU faculty was also a featured speaker. Their remarks were directed di-rected to the youth and their responsibility res-ponsibility as members of the L. D. S. church. Opening Meeting The opening session Sunday ''morning was featured by well-prepared talk by Aaronic priesthood members and the stake youth including: in-cluding: John Menderlhall, Fritz Boyer, Lewis Childs and Marie Fullmer. Music for each session of the conference was furnished by the Youth Chorus, directed by LaRell Johnson with Norma Brackbank as accompanist. President Ernest A. Strong was also a speaker in the forenoon meeting expressing his appreciation fqrhis family and explaining ex-plaining the benefits of keeping the word of wisdom. The forenoon meeting was in charge of A. G. Peterson of the stake presidency. W. R. Eddington also spoke during the conference session, representing the priesthood. priest-hood. Prayers in the forenoon and afternoon session were by Aaronic priesthood members. Glen W. Sum-sion Sum-sion of the stake presidency presided pre-sided over the afternoon meeting. In the evening, Ernest L. Wilken-sen, Wilken-sen, president of the BYU spoke. The meeting was in charge of the stake presidency with Grant Thorn stake superintendent, presiding. Program numbers included a vocal vo-cal number by Ann Merrie Fry, accompanied by Mrs. Mary' Bird and an original organ number by Glen Law. |
