Show 15 Years Ago . . . About ten tons of hay were burned in a haystack belonging to Mark Cook in the west fields Saturday Sat-urday morning. The fire was believed be-lieved started by duck hunters. Firemen succeeded in saving about 30 tons in the same stack. Sparks from the chimney started start-ed a fire on the roof of the home belonging to Oscar Boyer on Main street Monday. Firemen saved the home. Funeral services for Wm. Tipton, 66, Spanish-American War Veteran, Veter-an, who died Saturday afternoon, were held Tuesday in the Fourth ward chapel under direction of Bishop Leo Robertson. He is survived sur-vived by his widow Mr. Erma E. Tipton and 10 sons and daughters. Lois Rigtrup, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Rigtrup, has accepted ac-cepted a call to serve in the Northwestern North-western States LDS mission leaving leav-ing Dec. 8. In honor of Harold Whiting, son of Wm. Whiting of Mapleton, a farewell testimonial was held in the form of a banquet by the Elders Eld-ers Wednesday. He will go to the California mission in December. Mrs.. Annie Sumsion announces the mariage of her granddaughter, Donna, to J. Ross Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. O. Jones of Spanish Fork. |
