Show Two New Police ' Officers Named ' Two new police officers, Art Child and Ray David have been added to the city force replacing Wm. Duncan and Ron Schouten, who have resigned to accept positions posi-tions with the highway patrol and a business in Salt Lake City, respectively, re-spectively, according to report Wednesday by Chief H. M. Weight. Howard Allan, now becomes a member of the regular force. Mr. Davis will have part time on police duty and part time rounding up dogs in the city, the chief said. While there is no law requiring owners of dogs to pay a license, there is an ordinance which states that dogs must be- kept on the owners property at all times. Also Al-so according to the ordinance, "it shall be the duty of the owners of all dogs to provide dogs with suitable collars with metallic plates or marker attached bearing the name and address of the owner. own-er. The owner of any dog apprehended appre-hended without such collar and plate shall not be entitled to notice." no-tice." The dog in other words will be picked up and disposed of. Any dog found running at large shall be taken to the city Pound. If it is properly collared, notice shall be given the person and the owner will have five days in which to redeem the dog. If the dog is not collared properly, it will be kept five days and then disposed of, the law states. |
